To supply coordination and collaboration in between concerned institutes and enterprises which are obligated to execute disaster preparation legally and to pursuit and control facilities has been executed, also for execute to Provincial Crisis Center's tasks in urgent cases Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate which has been organized according 24-hour work basis,

Has coming into line the efforts of contest against urgent cases such as Earthquake, Forest Fires, Conflagrations, Marine Accidents, Flood and Landslides, Adverse Weather Conditions.

Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate has been implementing it's actions in consist of prevention, preparation, rapid reaction and redevelopment phases and has made the strategy of PREVENTION instead of the strategy of rescue and the expression of BE PREPARED instead of the expression of treatment as it's principle, as part of it's efforts in it's counteract with natural forces.

"Istanbul DED" where has gain to Istanbul a Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate that harbouring latest opportunities of technology in it's structure with modernizing it's building that has displayed activity since 2000,is carrying on it's preparations with an high speed to take mission at possible urgent situation and disasters.

Presently, our two storey side building construction with 650 m2 base area which will be provide to interfere more effective in disaster/crisis cases, has been completed and making it's hardware assembly.

Within Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate has existing units such as,

operations room of 50 person,



communication center where can be worked with 16 operator,



employment unions's work area of 36 person,




broadcasting studio,



educational lounge.



IT infrastructure of our center has been restored and with this infrastructure also our computer network that compatible with urgent case information system will be formed has been assembled. Furthermore, with huge screen system which is called DLP, flow of traffic can be watched on live in day time with cameras has been in 175 points of Istanbul.



Improving and enlarging it's electronic infrastructure,

IT infrastructure of our center has been restored and with this infrastructure also our computer network that compatible with urgent case information system will be formed has been assembled.

With cube screen system which is being composed of 32 pieces per 40m2 is assembled to the operations room in the structure of our center and with cameras that belongs to Metropolitan Municipality, the integration of the road displays's to our center has been completed.

Related efforts are underway to integration of cameras concerning MOBESE's and Bosphorus's screen to our center.

Preparing Information System's base of Disaster Management,

A strong database has been composed in existing Geographical Information System and also plans will support disaster management are enhancing with best up-to-date datas.

Using with earthquake data coming from Kandilli observatory, specifying approximately damage that a possible eartquake will cause would could be made.



Continuing efforts to solidify corporate structure of Provincal Disaster and Emergency Directorate,

At first stage, works have been started to solidifying present analogue radio network. In this way, with enhancing communication in between working association within the context of Urgent Cases interference, blanks will be filled in service area.

In the future, when will be being passed to numerical system, as a matter of convenience in integration, our infrastructure and analysing efforts concerned with system are being continued.

By courtesy of Disaster Management Information system which's prefeasibility studies has been completed, it's design and consultancy service has been continuing and which will be created with also using our existing database, we will have an information system that will make disaster's management more effective and will connect relevant associations to each other.
Related with Disaster Management Information system is being planned to open bids about software and hardware concerned as soon as possible.

Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate that will be backed up each other founding studies are being continued.

At Europe Hillside area of Hasdal 52nd Armoured Division Command and at Anatolian Side area of Kadıköy Fatih Sultan Mehmet Hospital has made each per 10.000 m2 appropriation of land.

Project studies of centers will be founded are being brought terminal stages by advisor supplier.
